As Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Newport Creative Communications, Mike Walsh has stewardship over all client and agency fiscal matters.
Before joining Newport in 1994, Mike was Vice President of Marketing for Plan USA (formerly Childreach). There, he was responsible for all business activities on a national scale relating to marketing, advertising, research and development, public relations and database marketing. Among his many significant accomplishments at Plan USA was the successful launch of direct response and long-form television, which resulted in a 40% reduction in new donor acquisition costs while doubling donor conversion rates.
At Newport, Mike provides an incredibly high level of dedication to all his clients, not to mention the leadership he offers to agency staff. In fact, he even served as the agency's president from 1999 to 2003. Throughout the industry, nonprofit organizations have grown accustomed to being able to count on Mike's wealth of fundraising experience and business expertise. He is known far and wide for his understanding of and ability to deal successfully with the many challenges faced by development executives today.
